TL; DR: I joined Eternis.ai as an Engineer. We are building privacy-focused digital twins that understand you, make decisions on your behalf, and act in your interests.
It has been almost two months since I joined Eternis.ai. I was primarily helping maintain mcp-go, a Go SDK for Model Context Protocol (MCP) (~7,000 stars on GitHub, BTW), when I got the offer. My work on mcp-go directly led to this job, and my first week was working exclusively on MCP-related projects.
Before all of that, I have been enjoying my otium (enjoying might be misleading depending on whether you are my wife), working on random projects across my broad interests, trying to find inspiration for my next big thing. But what you are looking for often ends up finding you when you are about to give up.
We are living through a civilizational shift, with AI marking the beginning of a new era for humanity. It only makes sense to me, as a technologist, to be a catalyst in this change and work on projects that shape the future of humankind. It only makes sense to me to work on ambitious projects that have a real stake in society, being a force for good against the collective misaligned incentives of the big tech gatekeepers.
We are about to surpass the vanguard of our science fictions into a world where natural and artificial intelligence actually coexist. That world cannot have a few people running the show for everyone else. The world of abundance should not put billions of people into passive consumption from active contribution.
The world we are trying to build at Eternis.ai is a world where every human owns their digital counterpart, free from the clutches of a few. It is a world where your digital counterpart can understand you completely and act on your behalf on a network of digital counterparts. It is a world where democracy works at the speed of thought, where each decision truly embodies the decision of every citizen.
It is a world where I would want to live.
