The Storyteller is the memoir of Dave Grohl, leader of Foo Fighters and the former drummer of Nirvana, two of my all-time favorite bands (and more, of course).

Right off the bat, you see that Dave is an excellent writer. The book feels easy to read and is very personal and relatable.

Dave’s mentality of celebrating life as it comes at you and embracing the toll it takes on you is evident in every story, from his teenage days to well into his professional career.

I liked how Dave goes into tangents when narrating a story and how the book isn’t told in chronological order. It feels like Dave is having a casual conversation with you instead of trying to document his life accurately.
