Swann’s Way is the first volume of Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time. Catherine K. includes it in her “Fall thoughts, fall reads” for its idea of involuntary memory, where a taste or a smell brings back a memory you thought you had forgotten.
There’s nothing more human than the idea of Proust.
The whole thing is seven volumes, so I’m committing to just this one for now.
